Stephanie is a Senior Counselling Psychologist with over twelve years' experience working in the NHS, independent and voluntary settings. She works with adult clients as well as children and young people.
Stephanie specialises in depression and anxiety-related issues, including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, health anxiety and generalised anxiety. She also works with clients with trauma and post-traumatic stress (PTSD); problems following abuse; issues of self worth; confidence; adjustment to major life events; and relationship difficulties; stress and insomnia. Stephanie is trained in multicultural counselling and is keen to work across cultures with sensitivity.
Stephanie's training has included the areas of psychology, counselling, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She works with clients to understand problems as they experience them and to develop a tailored plan for therapy. She draws on a wide knowledge base including: CBT and meta-cognitive approaches, mindfulness, DBT-informed therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR), compassion focussed therapy, narrative therapy and person centred therapy. Stephanie is skilled in short-term work and will encourage clients to undertake practical tasks between sessions where she believes this will be beneficial.
Stephanie also offers clinical supervision to health professionals (one-to-one or groups) and training in counselling skills, applied psychology, and mindfulness.
Stephanie is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
