Susan Matthews is an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist who works with individual adults with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; low mood/depression; stress; abuse and neglect; anger; assertiveness; autism spectrum disorder; fatigue and chronic illness; life transitions; loneliness; low self-esteem; menopause; mindfulness; relaxation; self-harm; social anxiety; trauma; and many more issues.

Susan has an MSc in Counselling from Abertay University and a Certificate in Counselling Skills from the Mary Ward Centre. In addition, Susan has a Yoga Teaching Diploma.

Susan works in a collaborative and flexible way with each client and adapts her approach to meet their individual needs and preferences. She uses elements from a number of different therapeutic approaches in her work with clients including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, creativity approaches, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.Susan's background and training
Susan has more than ten years' experience working with individuals (and groups) who are seeking to improve their mental health and wellbeing. During this time, she worked as a mental health practitioner, a living well facilitator and also as a yoga teacher. Prior to working in this field, Susan worked as a chartered accountant in the charity sector.Susan has an MSc in Counselling from Abertay University and a Certificate in Counselling Skills from the Mary Ward Centre.
