Divya Dawar is a clinical psychologist who works with individual adults, couples, children, young people, and families with a wide range of issues and problems including: anxiety; depression/low mood; stress; abuse; anger; assertiveness; bereavement/grief; body image; bullying; chronic illness; eating disorders; gender/sexual identity; health anxiety; life transitions; loneliness; mindfulness; neglect; obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD); panic; phobias; relaxation; risk taking; self-harm; trauma; and many other issues.

She has particular experience working with children and adolescents; and elderly clients as well as with health related issues, trauma/post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders.

Divya is an empathetic practitioner with a passion for helping people with their mental health and wellbeing. She works in a client centred, collaborative way with clients and tailors her approach to meet the individual needs and preferences of each person. She offers a number of different types of therapy/approaches including: Counselling/Psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, DBT-Informed Therapy, Coaching, Person-Centred Therapy, Schema Therapy, Play Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focussed Therapy.

Divya is fluent in Hindi and is happy to work with people who would prefer to work in this language.

Divya's background and training

Divya has several years' experience working as a clinical psychologist in both private and government run hospitals as well as in private practice. 

Divya has an M.Phil and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Amity University, India and a BA(hons) in Psychology from Delhi University, India. 

Divya is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and she is licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
